ANGER MANAGEMENT GROUP PROGRAM

Chronic anger can be costly, both physically and emotionally.  Most people can use their anger in appropriate ways in some situations, and yet be ineffectual in others. Participation in the Anger Management Group Program reduces levels of anger, especially in provocative situations. You will learn effective coping behaviors to stop escalation and to resolve conflicts. Graduated homework assignments allow participants to apply their newly acquired skills. The Anger Management Group Program employs the three major anger control interventions by using model presentations, rehearsal, positive feedback and promoting.

The Anger Management Group Program uses a skill building format and each new skill relies, to some extent, on what has previously been learned, therefore participants are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions. The Group Sessions are held weekly beginning and ending on time, lasting ninety minutes (90min). You are encouraged to do the Anger Log each week.

The Anger Management Group Program is recognized by the courts and endorsed by the National Anger Management Association . The fee is $100 per session. A variety of payment options are available as well as out-of-network medical insurance reimbursement. The Group Anger Management Program meets at the Growth Central  New York City Office ONLY:

The groups are lead by Dr. Richard Pfeiffer, Director of Growth Central

Richard Pfeiffer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (NY & NJ), a Psychotherapist, and a nationally Certified Anger Management Specialist-V. His clinical psychological / theological training lay the foundation for his expertise in helping people work through their core conflicts. He is a Certified Pastoral Psychotherapist having graduated from the Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute (NYC).  He is a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), and a Distinguished Diplomate of the National Anger Management Association (NAMA).  An innovator in the development of Integral Psychotherapy and  Couple Therapy, Dr.Pfeiffer has provided psychotherapeutic services to individuals and couples for over twenty years.
